About stacy
In business and in art, I am impressed and inspired by new methods and unique perspectives. Despite the abundance of creative minds, there are yet new discoveries to encounter, unique problems to solve and distinct perspectives to convey. The name Eckert, meaning “hard edge,” expresses my intention to push the edge or boundary of my own art, learning and awareness.
While maintaining an “edgy” side, I seek relaxing and aesthetically pleasing spaces, surroundings and art. The pieces I create are both moody and ethereal, the cloud-like shapes transfixing the viewer and transporting them into a more curious state of mind. Medium is used to enhance choice brush strokes while other forms are seamlessly blended, creating interest and unexpected movement. Various textiles are applied to connect and synthesize a diptych or triptych while adding dimension and visual storytelling nodes.
My art is an exercise in self-understanding and self-expression. Though I wield the paintbrush and determine the strokes, deeper meanings rise to my awareness when the piece is finished. My goal is to portray that feeling to viewers, to provide a visual representation of an unconscious knowing.
